Возлюбленные! прошу вас, как пришельцев и странников, удаляться от плотских похотей, восстающих на душу,
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.
Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
Living Godly Lives in a Pagan Society Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
Living Before the World Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,
Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
